AGRI-BUSINESS SPECIALIZATION

The development of commercial agriculture has relied on a large supporting sector of manufacturing and service companies involved with the supply of inputs to farming and the transportation, processing, marketing, and retailing of agricultural and food products. With this specialization, you will take courses in agricultural sciences, farm management and have access to courses at McGill's renouned Desautels Faculty of Management. Career opportunities in this field include management, farm finance and banking, and marketing positions in the agri-food industry. Farm advisors are organized through the Canadian Association of Farm Advisors

Students in this specialization should take MGCR-211 Intro. to Financial Accounting (Faculty of Management) as it is a pre-requisite for other courses in this specialization.

If you are interested in becoming a professional agronome in Quebec, you must combine this program with the Specializationn in Professional Agrology .
